【摘要】:1.1Thesetestmethodscoverthedeterminationoftenmajorelements(SiO2,Al2O3,Fe2O3,MgO,CaO,Na2O,K2O,TiO2,P2O5,MnO,andLOIinceramicwhitewaresclaysandmineralsusingwavelengthdispersiveX-rayfluorescencespectrometry(WDXRF).Thesampleisfirstignited,thenfusedwithlithiumtetraborateandtheresultantglassdiscisintroducedintoawavelengthdispersiveX-rayspectrometer.ThediscisirradiatedwithX-raysfromanX-raytube.X-rayphotonsemittedbytheelementsinthesamplesarecountedandconcentrationsdeterminedusingpreviouslypreparedcalibrationstandards.(1)Inadditionto10majorelements,themethodprovidesagravimetricloss-on-ignition.Note1MuchofthetextofthistestmethodisderiveddirectlyfromMajorelementanalysisbywavelengthdispersiveX-rayfluorescencespectrometry,includedinRef(1).1.2Interferences,withanalysisbyWDXRF,mayresultfrommineralogicalorotherstructuraleffects,lineoverlaps,andmatrixeffects.Thestructureofthesample,mineralogicalorotherwise,iseliminatedthroughfusionwithasuitableflux.Fusionofthesamplediminishesmatrixeffectsandproducesastable,flat,homogeneoussampleforpresentationtothespectrometer.Selectingcertaintypesofcrystalmonochromatorseliminatesmanyofthelineoverlapsandmultiorderlineinterferences.Amathematicalcorrectionprocedure(2)isusedtocorrectfortheabsorptionandenhancementmatrixeffects.1.3Concentrationsoftheelementsinclaysandmineralsaredeterminedindependentoftheoxidationstateandarereportedintheoxidationstateinwhichtheymostcommonlyoccurintheearthscrust.1.4Concentrationranges:1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
