【摘要】:Theabilityofpolymerfilmstoretaininks,coatings,adhesives,etc.isprimarilydependentonthecharacteroftheirsurfacesandcanbeimprovedbyoneofseveralsurface-treatingtechniques.Theelectricaldischargetreatment,suchascoronatreatment,hasbeenfoundtoincreasethewettingtensionofapolymerfilm.Thestrongerthetreatment,themoreactivelythesurfacereactswithdifferentpolarinterfaces.Itisthereforepossibletorelatethecontactangleofapolymerfilmsurfacetoitsabilitytoacceptandretaininks,coatings,adhesives,etc.,iftheink,coating,oradhesivecontainsthepolarfunctionalities.Contactangleinitselfisnotacompletelyacceptablemeasureofink,coating,oradhesiveadhesion.Thewettingtensionofapolymerfilmbelongstoagroupofphysicalparametersforwhichnostandardofaccuracyexists.Thewettingtensionofapolymercannotbemeasureddirectlybecausesolidsdonotchangeshapemeasurablyinreactiontosurfaceenergy.Manyindirectmethodshavebeenproposed.Differenttestmethodstendtoproducedifferentresultsonidenticalsamples.Practicaldeterminationofasolid''ssurfaceenergyusesthisinteractionofthesolidwithtestliquids.Althoughthelevelofsurfacetreatmentofpolymerfilmshasbeentraditionallydefinedintheindustryintermsofdynes/cm(mN/m),thesevaluesarederivedfromasubjectiveinterpretationoftheobservedtestliquidbehavior.Thefollowingrangesofwatercontactanglevaluescanbeusedasaguidefordefiningthelevelofsurfacetreatmentofpolyolefinsandmanyotherpolymerfilmswithinitiallowsurfaceenergies:Marginalornotreatment
